MY ROLE: UX DESIGNER       TOOL: FIGMA

PROJECT DURATION: 1 MONTH

PROJECT VISION

This is a delivery app for a Taco Truck. As our customers are from different backgrounds it’s important for us to have multi language option to make it accesible to them.

THE PROBLEM AND HOW TO SOLVE IT

I needed to create an easy delivery app that can be understood by people from different backgrounds.
For that I conducted Surveys as I thought this way I would understand better what the user thinks and needs.

USER PAIN POINTS

LANGUAGE

Many users live abroad and don’t speak the native language, that makes them frustrated and their experience is always difficult as they have to translate everything.

FILTERS

Many users have diet restrictions, given to allergies or self choices. For them is really frustrating not to find in the menu what they can actually eat.

USER RESEARCH

For my user research I conducted Surveys on a representative sample of 5 users.

I conducted Surveys as I thought this way I would understand better what the user thinks and needs. For that I elaborated a Screener survey to determine if the participants I evaluated met the requirements of the research study.

Some assumptions I made going into the research changed after conducting it. For example the main pain point for many users.

PAPER WIREFRAMES

Before moving onto Figma low fidelity prototypes I used Procreate to sketch some of the app's screens. Below are some wireframes for The Home Page, where I was just playing with the elements to better understand what the core of the app would look like.

USABILITY TEST

Before the first usability study I knew I needed to have multi language option but I didn’t know after the first Usability Study that it was not easy for our users to have a small list select. So I designed it with bigger buttons to make it more usable.

On the second Usability test I noticed that our customers needed also more contrast to realize there were clickable buttons. So I added a background to make them more recognisable.

MULTI LANGUAGE

After the second Usability Study I noticed that our customers needed not only bigger buttons to click, also was important to have contrast for accessibility.

TAKEAWAYS

The entire process of building a Taco Delivery App a great challenge but really rewarding.

Starting with an idea and seeing the actual prototype was amazing and helped me gain confidence, get use to various tools and explore my creative thinking.

As I was the only person doing the UX/UI of the app, the process allowed me to have hands-on experience in each step of the design process.

Here you can check the high fidelity prototype
